Fellow Tea Drinkers,
I’ve been blogging my thoughts and opinions about tea at this web address for over a year now, and I’m excited to announce that we are integrating my blog with the new Tea Shop website. Beginning today, you will find my new posts at the Tea Shop site. For those who are reading via RSS, please subscribe to The Tea Shop feed here. This site will remain up for reference purposes only.

Welcome to The Tea Shop 2.0! – theteashop.com – The finest quality loose teas from around the world
Welcome to The Tea Shop 2.0!
Fellow Tea Drinkers,
I think it’s finally time to officially release the news. The Tea Shop
is just about done with a MAJOR site update that will completely change
the way that The Tea Shop looks, feels, and functions. We will still be
located at www.theteashop.com, so no worries about losing us! On the new site, you’ll find it easier to check out, easier to navigate, and just plain easier to use. While it’s not fully functional right now, you can still visit the site and peruse the content by following the link above. Let us know what you think using the mail form on the “Contact The Tea Shop” page. We don’t have any official date for the new site to be fully open yet, but it will be before the new year. Enjoy!

Important News About Our Holiday Promotion – theteashop.com – The finest quality loose teas from around the world
- Very important info regarding our 20% off holiday promotion.
- post by telecommatt
Fellow Tea Drinkers,
Postcards have gone out regarding our 20% off holiday promotion. They will be in your mailboxes soon! Please save your postcard, as you will need the promotional code shown on the card to receive your 20% discount.
This is very, very important: You must place your order at the original The Tea Shop website or you will not receive the discount. When you place your order, enter the promotional code in the notes at the end of the order. Because the current order system does not reflect your 20% discount, (one of the reasons we are moving the site) you will receive an email from The Tea Shop confirming your order at the discounted rate BEFORE your credit card is processed.
Didn’t receive a postcard? Aren’t on our mailing list? Not a problem! You can still take advantage of our 20% off sale by clicking on this link, filling out the form completely, and requesting the holiday promotion code.
Cheers,
Matthew Murphy

Bay View Bed and Breakfast of Mackinac
- I love this place!! We stayed here for our honeymoon and just got back from another stay there. The staff are so nice and accomodating and the whole place is clean and comfortable. The rooms are amazing. We recommend 205 or 207; both have private verandas with fantastic views. And don’t forget to try the Bay View blend coffee made with Mackinac fudge! - post by telecommatt
Warm, yet comfortable days and cool star lit nights are the essence of the Bay View at Mackinac Island… nestled in the heart of the Great Lakes of Northern Michigan… where the water can touch the sky and sunsets dance to a silhouette of the old lighthouse off neighboring Round Island; quiet breezes nudge sailboats from port to port, and the Northern Lights sometimes dance ’til dawn.
- I can’t say enough good things about this place! We just got back last night, which is why I haven’t posted in a few days. It was so relaxing and so hard to leave! - post by telecommatt

Dear Tea Aficionados,
After an unintentionally long summer break, it’s great to be posting again! I wish I could say that the extended silence was caused by a trip to exotic lands in search of the rarest of rare teas, but it really had more to do with computer maintenance than anything else.
You may notice in some slight changes to the blog postings coming up. Due to feedback and some successes with other blogs I maintain, I’ll be posting more frequently and many postings will be shorter. We’ll be branching out from The Shop a bit to bring you tea news and musings. Think of it like “Thoughts from The Shop” instead of just “News from the Shop.”
In other items of note, it’s the webmaster’s (that’s me) birthday today! And yes, the Tea Geek is a true Geek, celebrating by posting to his blog… I wanted to tell you about the tea that I’m drinking tonight though. I thought I’d mix things up a bit on my birthday and add some milk and sugar to our Three Assam Estate Blend. I’m usually a purist when it come to my cuppa, but tonight I came home just craving this. I actually used Silk Vanilla Soy milk and about a teaspoon of sugar. It ends up with a wonderful nutty flavor and the vanilla taste lingers just long enough to blend with the aftertaste of the tea. Even if it’s not your birthday, this is a great Autumn taste that goes well with the smell of woodsmoke and apples. Cheers!

This month will be a Ceylon month for me, I think. For some reason, the aroma of an excellent Burnside Estate always reminds me of wood fires and the exquisite crunch of snow underfoot. This is a favorite of mine anytime really, and for those of you reading in a place where you don’t have to deal with the crunch of snow, don’t feel left out! Weather in Sri Lanka, the birthplace of Ceylon teas, appears to be rather rainy and quite warm this week. I challenge you to find any climate that dampens the pleasure of a great ceylon!

Dear Friends of The Tea Shop,
After spending a week or so trying to get my bearings in ‘06, I think I’m finally ready to tackle the new year. I’m almost ashamed to admit it, but one of my first thoughts was, “What kind of tea should I drink?” I could taste the answer almost before it’s name came to me: Tea Shop Apricot Flavor Semi-Black.
I want to draw your attention to the Tea Shop Flavored and Scented teas this month. These are great teas to have on hand for just about any occasion, but they are especially grand on those long winter days that we have so many of.
Cheers,
The Tea Geek
